Size Options

The sizing of bodybuilding competition trunks is a bit of a tricky thing. The competition suits are very stretchy and tighter is generally better than looser when posing. Unlike pants, bodybuilding posing trunks don't have a straight waist when they are worn. They go up at your hips so your height and body shape is also a factor in sizing.

The truth is that almost every competitor is a small or a medium. Even the monsters of the IFBB generally wear medium trunks .

So let's discuss reasons you might wear a small sized bodybuilding posing trunk.

  • If you have a 27 inch waist or narrower your correct trunk size is definitely small.

  • If you have a 30 inch waist or narrower and you are less than 5' 7" tall, your correct trunk size is small.

Rarely does a person in competition shape wear a large bodybuilding trunk. If you have a very wide waist because of your skeletal structure you would be a large.

The waist of a medium suit stretches to 40 inches, so it would still probably fit someone with a 36 inch waist. If you have wider than a 36 inch waist, large would probably be the size for you.
