Fats, Why?

Fresh macadamia butter made with a Champion juicer.
Now that I have opened a can of worms, this whole journey will be my experience to share. I am 59 years old and have been through so many fad diets and competition meal plans it could make your head spin. I have survived them all. I have also almost killed myself a few time in doing so. I have already been asked since I posted yesterdays blog what is wrong with the Keto diet. This could take a while but I will try to be brief.
As far back as late 90's when the "Adkins" diet was a thing, my first reaction was "Shit! That is how we competitors eat the two weeks before a contest!" I could never imagine trying to eat like that on a regular basis because it wreaks havoc on the liver and prevents your body from holding onto water which is incredibly important for so many reasons. Slowly people were being diagnosed with heart issues. Listen, if it's too good to be true, it is. You cannot eat all the bacon and whole eggs and steaks, and avocados, and whatever else fat you want and really believe it is healthier for you. Can you? Well stupid me ended up like that about 5 years ago unintentionally due to work pressure. I ended up betraying my liver and I sure felt it. It's called fatty liver.
Yes, you can eat fats, but they really do not replace carbs. The two really have a different purpose for energy and growth. More later.
